Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer

Job Description
This position reports to an Engineering Manager. The incumbent may work independently or as part of a team of engineers performing tasks associated with manufacturing engineering processing.
The primary area of responsibility is working to develop efficient and cost effective processes for all machining centers.
This involves the preparation of detailed manufacturing instructions and N/C programs to produce machined parts and sub-assemblies to meet engineering drawings and specifications. This individual will determine the manufacturing procedures and operation sequencing and establish tooling and gauging and machine requirements to fabricate parts. The incumbent must be willing to learn all areas of manufacturing.
This position requires the incumbent to be accountable for meeting the demands of deadlines and costs associated with manufacturing. Incumbent must be able to multi-task as well as work extended hours when required. Occasional travel required, including the possibility of international travel to support supply chain efforts.
Carreer Requirments
- Education/Experience:
Ideally, a Bachelor degree in a technical field (ME or IE preferred). Alternatively, an Associate degree in a relevant technical field and/or significant experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineering Technician.
Skills/Knowledge:
Well-developed communication skills are a necessity. Must have good technical knowledge of the types of manufacturing processes used at Moog. The incumbent should be knowledgeable in process improvement, lean principles, N/C programming, machine tool capabilities, tooling requirements, manufacturing techniques, gauging, materials and special processes. In addition, the incumbent must possess the human relation skills necessary to work effectively with all levels of engineering and management and also have the initiative to contact other groups when a problem/solution requires it. Previous experience, including demonstrated ability to perform lead on new machine tool implementation and demonstrated ability to not only follow but develop and implement new processes and systemic protocols, is desired.
